Reservations
Because we guarantee a guide for every raft, two guides for every Zipline trip, a guide for bike trips and two guides for each canyoneering expedition, we strongly encourage making a reservation so we can have the appropriate staffing for the day. If you are planning to come in July or August we recommend making your reservation early because our peak season trips fill up quickly.
Reserve your trip online, or call us between 8 am and 5 pm and our friendly reservations staff assist you in scheduling your adventure. Full payment is required to confirm your reservation and this can be done with any major credit card or check (time permitting).
Waivers
French Broad Adventures requires all guests to sign a waiver. When you make your reservation, you will receive an email confirmation that includes a link to our participant waiver. Please click on the link in the confirmation email and complete the waiver online. If you are participating in multiple adventure activities please complete a waiver for each. We have separate waivers for whitewater rafting, calm water rafting, ziplining, and canyoneering.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Deposits and payments are refundable (minus 6% processing fee) with a call to our office with a minimum of three days (72 hours) notice. Any cancellations under three days to trip time will result in a forfeit of trip cost. Trips booked under three days in advance are not eligible for refunds.
French Broad Adventures trips go rain or shine, 7 days a week, March through November. If you need to reschedule your trip within three days to trip time, a $50 rescheduling fee will apply. Call us with questions at 800-570-7238.
Trip Insurance: French Broad Adventures has a 72-hour cancellation policy. By purchasing trip insurance you can receive a refund minus the booking fee & cost of the insurance itself if you cancel within 72 hours before your scheduled tour time. If purchasing cancellation insurance, it must be purchased for each individual ticket.
Weather
We operate rain or shine. We will, however, cancel trips in severe weather. Severe weather is anything that presents added danger to a trip such as lightning, flash flooding or high winds. Visit our weather station page for weather information at our Marshall Outpost.
Tipping
Our guides are providing a professional service to you, your family, or your group. All of your guides are highly trained and depend on tips as part of their salary. A good rule of thumb is to tip your guide as you would a server in a restaurant, 15-20% of the trip, but of course, any tipping is at your own discretion. Gratuity is deeply appreciated.
Photos
Laughs, smiles, and great memories! From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we will have a photographer available on all adventures. So as you are paddling down the 5-mile or 9-mile whitewater section of the French Broad River, flying through the trees or rappelling down a waterfall…smile big - if you aren’t already.
You can purchase photos online after your trip. Photos are available up to one year after your tour. Once purchased, you will receive an email to access the photos.
